PINEWOOD DERBY

The Pinewood Derby. It's one of the biggest events in the Cub Scout Calendar. This year, your Scout will not only get to race against Scouts from their den and pack but from the entire Council as well! This is going to be an event to remember. So how do you become a part of this? I'm glad you asked.

So- we've got a three step plan for everyone who wants to be a part of the pinewood derby.

  1. Get a Pinewood Derby Car. If you don't already have one, you can buy the kit and any accessories you might want from our virtual Scout Shop at www.councilstuff.com/413 . Once you do that, go online and register for the event for free so that we know you are coming. https://scoutingevent.com/413-pinewood21

  2. Build your Car. With the help of parents, Cub Scouts can make their car look however they want. Want to make your car look like a banana? Cool. Want to make a police car? Go for it. Check out the official rules and guidelines for cars by going to https://www.scoutshop.org/pwd-rules

  3. Drop off your Car. On Saturday February 20th, we will have locations around the Council for you to drop your car off at. At the drop-off, we'll be checking cars to make sure everyone is within the rules. Once we get all the cars, we'll transport them all back to Roswell for the big race!

  4. The Race Day. On February 27th, we will be broadcasting the race live over the internet. Watch your car face off against other cars from around the Council! Winners get sweet prizes! After the race is over, we'll be bringing your cars back. You can pick them up the next Saturday at the same place that you picked them up from.

This will be an event to remember. We hope to see you there!
